42-year-old farmer Anas Ibrahim was sentenced to 22 years in prison by a Dambai Circuit Court for inflicting cutlass wounds on his pregnant wife in Banda, Krachi Nchumuru District of the Oti Region. Convicted on his own plea, he received five, seven, and ten years each for assault, inflicting multiple cutlass wounds, and attempted murder, respectively, with sentences to run consecutively. The attack occurred on May 28, 2024, without provocation.
