Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, 73, has been admitted to AIIMS, Delhi, due to back pain; he is in stable condition and under observation, according to AIIMS media cell in-charge Dr. Rima Dada. Singh was admitted early in the morning and is in the Old Private Ward, undergoing tests. The senior BJP leader became India's Defence Minister for the first time on June 1, 2019, and assumed charge for the second consecutive term on June 13, 2024.
