A West Virginia Division of Highways employee and a driver were severely injured in a crash on Interstate 79, after a pickup truck hit a WVDOH mower. The incident occurred near the Stonewood and Nutter Fort exit. This follows a trend of work zone crashes in West Virginia, with five people killed in such accidents in 2023, and 800 crashes in 2022 resulting in eight fatalities and 276 injuries.
