Trinamool Congress MP Sougata Roy reported receiving death threats after the arrest of party leader Jayant Singh, accused of mob violence. An unknown caller threatened to kill Roy if he failed to arrange for Singh's release. Roy has filed a complaint with the Barrackpore Police Commissioner and provided the threat-maker's phone number. This marks the second time a ruling party leader has received threats in connection with Singh's arrest.
