Tokyo District Court fined major Japanese ad agency Hakuhodo ¥200M ($1.24M) for violating antimonopoly laws by rigging bids linked to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. This marks the first court ruling for one of the six companies implicated in the bid-rigging scandal. Kenichiro Yokomizo, former Hakuhodo president, received a suspended 18-month prison sentence for the same charges.
