Tega Cay issued a boil water advisory after E. coli bacteria was detected in one of 11 routine water samples. Residents are advised to boil water for at least a minute or use bottled water for activities such as drinking, cooking, and pet care, as a precautionary measure. The city will update residents on the water situation by 3 p.m. Thursday, while working with the state Health Department on follow-up testing.
