Taoiseach Harris criticised "toxic public discourse" at the unveiling of a portrait of murdered politician, Billy Fox, in Leinster House. Fox, a former TD and senator, was killed by IRA gunmen in 1974. The event marked the 50th anniversary of his death and featured Taoiseach Harris, Rural Minister Heather Humphreys, and Seanad Cathaoirleach Jerry Buttimer. Harris highlighted the need to "dialled down" the toxicity in public discourse.
