South Korea has filed a suit to reverse an international tribunal's order to pay $32 million in compensation to US hedge fund Mason Capital over a 2015 Samsung merger. The government's action follows the Permanent Court of Arbitration's April ruling in an investor-state case where Mason demanded $200 million in compensation, claiming unfair intervention by the Korean government in the merger of Cheil Industries and Samsung C&T.
