Singapore's Keppel DC REIT buys first Japanese data centre for $145m, marking its entry into the Asia's second-largest data centre hub. The data centre, Tokyo Data Centre 1, will be purchased for 23.4 billion yen ($145m), a 2.5% discount on its 24 billion yen valuation. Japan's data centre market is projected to grow over 10% annually from 2024 to 2028, driven by the increasing demand for generative AI and limited supply of data centres.
