The Pittsburgh Pirates are in talks to acquire outfielder Taylor Ward from the LA Angels in a trade to improve their outfield. Ward, 30, is hitting .238/.321/.417 with 14 homers this year and would provide a steady bat and reasonable salary for the 2024 season with two additional seasons of control beyond that. The Angels, however, are hesitant to trade players with control beyond the current season.
