Reptile Rescued from Storm Drain on Phoenix Freeway: On July 10, a monitor lizard was spotted on the Loop 101 in north Phoenix and crawled into a storm drain. Arizona Department of Transportation crews, along with the Phoenix Herpetological Sanctuary, safely rescued the reptile, which did not impact traffic. This marks a first for the Herpetological Society, as it is the first time they've rescued a reptile from a freeway.
