150-million-year-old Stegosaurus skeleton "Apex" to be auctioned in New York for $4-6 million, despite objections from paleontologists.

The largest Stegosaurus skeleton ever discovered, named Apex, is expected to fetch $4-6 million at a New York auction. The 150-million-year-old fossil, standing 11 feet tall and nearly 27 feet long, was unveiled at Sotheby's and will remain on display until its sale on July 17. Many paleontologists object to such sales, arguing that these finds should be preserved in museums or other public spaces and not sold to private bidders.
