Microsoft settles antitrust complaint with CISPE over cloud computing licensing, avoiding EU investigation and fines.

Microsoft has reached a settlement with CISPE, a European cloud trade body, for an antitrust complaint about its cloud computing licensing practices, averting an EU antitrust investigation and potential hefty fine. As part of the deal, Microsoft will make changes to its software licensing practices within nine months, pay a lump sum to CISPE, and reimburse its litigation and campaign costs.
