600kg of banned smokeless tobacco seized in Little India, 27 individuals under investigation.
600kg of smokeless tobacco, banned in Singapore, were seized during a six-week operation in Little India by the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) and police. 27 individuals are under investigation for selling and possessing these products, valued at over S$100,000. Smokeless tobacco products, including snuff, snus, and chewing tobacco, contain carcinogens and carry penalties like fines, imprisonment, or both for first-time offenders.
