11 July: Munak Canal sub-branch breach in North Delhi causes flood in Bawana, repair ongoing.
A sub-branch of the Munak Canal in North Delhi experienced a breach on 11 July, causing a flood-like situation in Bawana. The Career Lined Channel (CLC) that runs into Bawana also broke. Repair work on the breached sub-branch began and is expected to be completed by the afternoon. The Delhi Jal Board is working with the Haryana Irrigation Department to divert water to another sub-branch of the canal.
