Italy's Education Minister Giuseppe Valditara has announced a ban on smartphones in schools for the next school year, citing UNESCO's recommendation to prevent distractions and negative impacts on learning. Tablets and computers are still permitted with teacher supervision. The Ministry of Education, under the right-wing administration, also plans to reintroduce paper diaries and promote handwriting skills.
