Intuit, the software firm behind TurboTax and QuickBooks, plans to cut 1,800 jobs, or 10% of its global workforce, to refocus on artificial intelligence (AI). CEO Sasan Goodarzi assures that the company will rehire at least the same number of employees in fiscal 2025 in engineering, product, and customer-facing roles. The company also plans to close two offices in Boise, Idaho, and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and increase investments in generative AI, expanding into new markets such as Canada, the UK, and Australia.
