GKN Automotive signs VPPA with Recurrent Energy for 65% of its European electricity, aiming to reduce GHG emissions and achieve net zero by 2045.

GKN Automotive has signed a Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (VPPA) with Recurrent Energy covering 65% of its European electricity load, as part of its commitment to reduce direct Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 45% by 2030 and achieve net zero across the entire value chain by 2045. The 10-year agreement will facilitate the supply of approximately 2 million megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable electricity to the European grid, with the Rey I project in Spain contributing 200,000 MWh annually.
