From April 1, 2025, satellite television broadcasters in India are required to obtain authorization from the country's space regulator, IN-SPACe, for using non-Indian satellites. This requirement is outlined in the Indian Space Policy-2023, which states that only IN-SPACe-authorized non-Indian satellites will be allowed to provide services in the country.
