3 earthquakes of magnitudes 3.1, 3.8, and 3.6 hit Port Hedland, Australia, within 12 hours, with no significant damage.

Port Hedland, an Australian mining town, experienced three earthquakes within a 12-hour period, with magnitudes of 3.1, 3.8, and 3.6. The shallower tremors, centered 50 km southeast of the city, have not caused significant damage. Geoscience Australia senior seismologist Dr Hadi Ghasemi stated that small earthquakes in the region are not unusual, but it is rare for an aftershock to be larger than the initial earthquake.
