3,455 community leaders and village health workers in Lesotho's Mohales Hoek, Butha Buthe, Qachas Nek, and Thaba Tseka Districts were trained in event-based surveillance by the World Health Organisation (WHO). This method proactively identifies and manages health events, strengthening public health preparedness and response mechanisms. A 2021 review revealed the need for improvement in the country's adverse events following immunization surveillance system.
