The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet alleging that the 1994 ISRO espionage case, which wrongfully implicated Indian scientist Nambi Narayanan, was fabricated by Kerala police officer S Vijayan to illegally detain a Maldivian woman, Mariyam Rasheeda, after she rejected his advances. The CBI accuses the officer of taking Rasheeda's travel documents and air tickets after she spurned his advances, leading to surveillance of her and her friend Fauzia Hasan, and ultimately their arrest under the Foreigners Act.
