Candace Laing, former Nutrien executive, has been appointed as the new president and CEO of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, succeeding Perrin Beatty who announced his retirement in March. Laing's background in both small and large businesses, including her time at Nutrien and as a board chair for the Chamber, makes her a strong candidate for this role. Laing plans to focus on reducing the burden on businesses, addressing supply chain challenges, and establishing policy and regulatory stability for Canadian businesses.
