Bank of Ghana bans individuals involved in 2017-2019 financial sector failures from key financial roles, under the "fit and proper person" criteria.

Bank of Ghana (BoG) has imposed a ban on individuals directly involved in failures or poor governance during the 2017-2019 financial sector clean-up, and previous directors of failed banks, from holding key positions in financial institutions based on the "fit and proper person" criteria. The bank introduced the Fit and Proper Persons Directive in 2019 to reinforce sound corporate governance practices and strengthen its regulatory role in the financial sector.
