Bakkafrost Scotland proposes closing Marybank and Arnish sites, affecting 80 jobs due to reduced activity.

Bakkafrost Scotland, owner of salmon processing facilities in Lewis, proposes closing its Marybank and Arnish sites, near Stornoway, affecting about 80 jobs. The company cites minimal activity for the facilities in the next 18 months due to the majority of fish being harvested in the first part of the year. Western Isles SNP MSP Alasdair Allan calls the move "devastating" as Bakkafrost is one of the largest employers in the area.
