Google parent Alphabet has reportedly abandoned plans to acquire HubSpot, a customer relationship management firm. Shares in HubSpot fell 19%, dropping the company's market value to approximately $25bn. Alphabet's interest in acquiring HubSpot never reached the stage of detailed discussions, with sources stating that the two parties did not progress past initial conversations.
