Veronika Mike, 41, and Zoltan Pinter, 46, filled a cardboard box with waste and left it out on bin collection day, hoping it would be collected. Instead, they received two £600 fines. The couple said the street has been plagued by rubbish for years, attracting rats, and they were simply trying to clean up their environment.
