1 person died in a probable drowning incident at Ludington State Park in Lake Michigan on July 9. Emergency crews responded to reports of a person struggling in the water, and several people attempted to rescue the individual. Despite their efforts, the victim slipped under the surface and was later pronounced dead at Corewell Health Ludington Hospital. The person's identity is being withheld pending family notification.
