Mechanic killed at Chabahar Konarak airport in Iran after being sucked into a Boeing 737-500's engine during a test run.

A mechanic, Abolfazl Amiri, was killed at Chabahar Konarak airport in southern Iran after being sucked into a Boeing 737-500's engine during a test run. Amiri had approached the running engine to retrieve a tool he left nearby, despite the safety area around the engine. This incident echoes similar accidents that occurred at Montgomery Regional Airport in Alabama, US, and Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport. The Iranian aviation authority has launched an investigation into the accident.
