3.1M dredging project commenced at Wailoa Small Boat Harbor following 2018 Kilauea eruption.
A $3.1M dredging project at the Wailoa Small Boat Harbor on Hawaii Island commenced on Monday, following the 2018 Kilauea eruption that left lava sediments a concern for boaters. The harbor is "critically important" to the Hilo community, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Repairs include repairs to the bulkhead fender and boat ramp loading dock, as well as dredging work for the harbor.
