Irish mortgage rates fell to their lowest level in nine months, with the average rate on a new mortgage in May at 4.17%, down 0.07 percentage points from April. However, despite this decrease, Irish homebuyers still face the joint sixth-highest rates in the eurozone. The European Central Bank cut rates in June and plans further cuts this year.
