Irish government to assist UK's human rights-compliant inquiry into 1998 Omagh bombing.
The Irish government has agreed to provide assistance to the UK's upcoming inquiry into the 1998 Omagh bombing, which killed 29 people, including a pregnant woman. This follows a Belfast High Court judge's recommendation in 2021 that the British government should conduct a human rights-compliant investigation into alleged security failings leading up to the attack. The inquiry is set to begin on July 30th.
