Spirits are predicted to overtake wine in global sales, with 2.67 billion cases of spirits sold in 2022, nearly as many as the 2.8 billion cases of wine, according to a report from the World Spirits Alliance. Trends towards drinking fewer, more expensive drinks have contributed to spirits' growth, displacing wine in the process. Meanwhile, the spirits industry contributes $730bn to the global GDP and supports 36 million jobs worldwide.
