50 earthquakes beneath Kilauea volcano's caldera and 100 beneath its upper East Rift Zone have been recorded in the past day, doubling the seismic activity since the previous day. Although no eruption is currently happening, the potential remains, with ongoing unrest since the June 3rd Southwest Rift Zone eruption. The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory will continue to provide daily updates and notify the public of any significant changes.
