Cyril Xaba unopposedly elected mayor of eThekwini Municipality, replacing Mxolisi Kaunda.
Cyril Xaba has been elected unopposed as mayor of the eThekwini Municipality. Xaba replaces former mayor Mxolisi Kaunda, who was redeployed by the ANC to the National Council of Provinces. The eThekwini Municipality, which includes the city of Durban, has been struggling with service delivery issues. Xaba, an ANC councillor, was nominated by deputy mayor and NFP councillor Zandile Myeni and seconded by the ANC.
