Amtrak Train 319 derailed near Washington, MO after hitting a fallen tree; no injuries reported.

An Amtrak train derailed near Washington, Missouri on Monday afternoon after hitting a fallen tree on the tracks. Train 319, traveling from Kansas City to Chicago, encountered the tree at around 4:59 pm near Old Highway 100 and Ming Drive. Despite a temporary power loss, no injuries were reported among the 124 passengers and five crew members. Amtrak is arranging transportation for passengers to continue their journeys, with power later restored to the train. Due to ongoing delays, Train 319 has been canceled and alternative transportation arrangements have been made.
