Alstom secures $3bn deal with Hamburger Hochbahn in Germany to supply 374 new metro trains and rail tech. The deal, worth up to 2.8bn euros, includes the innovative CBTC (Communication-Based Train Control) system, Urbalis, for the new 25 km U5 line, set to have fully automated, driverless operation. The first delivery is expected in early 2028, with production starting in 2026 at the Salzgitter site.
