Abia state labour unions issue 7-day ultimatum for full wage implementation or face indefinite strike.

Organized Labour in Abia, comprising NLC and TUC, has issued a 7-day ultimatum to the Abia State Government, demanding the full implementation of the N30,000 minimum wage and N35,000 palliative wage award approved by the federal government. If the government fails to meet these demands by July 15, the labour unions will commence an indefinite strike action. The ultimatum follows the expiration of a previous 14-day ultimatum, which was given to the governor to address the labour unions' demands.
