42-year-old Yue Zhou, a Queens woman, was charged with a murder-for-hire plot after allegedly attempting to hire a hitman through a fake website on the dark web. Zhou paid $5,000 to a middleman and provided detailed information about her lover's wife and adult daughter to the website's administrator. She was arrested on June 5 and pleaded not guilty in Brooklyn federal court. The victims were unharmed as the website was fictitious.
