Samsung wins first 2-nm chip order from Japan's Preferred Networks for AI chip production.

Samsung Electronics has won an order from Japan's Preferred Networks to make cutting-edge AI chips using its 2-nanometre foundry process and advanced chip packaging service. The chips, designed by Gaonchips, will be used for Preferred Networks' high-performance computing hardware for generative AI technologies. This marks the first order for Samsung's two-nanometre chip contract manufacturing process.
