North Carolina's Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians legalizes recreational marijuana for tribal members, starting sales on July 4th.

Recreational marijuana is now legal for Cherokee tribal members in North Carolina, with sales commencing on July 4th at Great Smoky Cannabis Company within the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians' land. The Eastern Band can pass rules regarding its use, and sales to non-members are expected to begin later in the summer. The dispensary had previously opened in April for medical marijuana purchases.
