Louisiana parents challenging a new state law requiring Ten Commandments displays in public schools filed a motion for a preliminary injunction, asking a federal court to block the law from going into effect while their lawsuit progresses, ahead of the new school year. They contend the law, signed by Gov. Jeff Landry in June, violates both US Supreme Court precedent and the First Amendment.
