Greece fined over €350,000 ($379,000) in five days for beach businesses illegally covering beaches with sunbeds and tables as part of a crackdown on overtourism. The government used surveillance drones, satellite imagery, and a special app called "MyCoast" to monitor and enforce new rules introduced in March, requiring umbrellas and deck chairs to be at least four meters from the sea, with no rentals allowed on beaches with less than four meters of sand.
