Australian government blames China's Ministry of State Security for backing malicious cyberattacks by hacking group APT40 on Australian computer systems. This is the first time Australian agencies have attributed cyberattacks to APT40 and named the Ministry of State Security as a sponsor of the operations. The investigation was led by Australia and was conducted in collaboration with the Five Eyes partners - New Zealand, Canada, US, and UK, along with Germany, Japan, and South Korea.
