A juvenile died from injuries in a head-on collision near Cottonwood Recreation Area, Polk County, Iowa on Sunday. The accident involving two vehicles occurred at 1:30 p.m. on N.W. Fisher Lane. The juvenile and the northbound vehicle's driver were critically injured, with the driver still in serious condition. The southbound vehicle's occupants sustained minor injuries and were released. The area remains closed for investigation amidst an increase in road fatalities in Iowa this year.
