UK MoD agrees to compensate thousands of veterans for hearing loss due to military noise exposure.

The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has agreed to compensate thousands of veterans for hearing loss caused by exposure to loud noises during their military service. The MoD previously disputed its duty of care towards personnel but, following a High Court ruling, has accepted that noise in the military has been a cause of hearing loss for those discharged after 1987. This groundbreaking agreement could lead to many more service people receiving payments, with up to 10,000 currently making claims.
