UConn men's basketball coach Dan Hurley has signed a six-year, $50 million contract, nearly a month after he declined an offer from the Los Angeles Lakers. The new agreement, worth up to $6.375 million in his first season, includes a $1 million annual retention bonus and an additional $400,000 base salary, with performance-based incentives possible. The contract will be funded through increased ticket sales and donations from the Husky Athletic Fund.
