7 tonnes of kiwifruit in West Auckland, NZ, were saved from waste by the New Zealand Food Network (NZFN) and partners after Fletcher Living contacted them about a large crop. NZFN, established in 2020 for food insecurity, bridged supply and demand by redistributing the surplus to communities in need. This collaboration prevented waste and ensured regular access to good food for vulnerable individuals.
