South Africa's Numsa launches strike against Gautrain operator, Bombela Operating Company, over wage demands.
South Africa's National Union of Metalworkers (Numsa) has launched a strike against Gautrain operator, Bombela Operating Company (BOC), over wage negotiations. Numsa's demands include a 13% wage increase, a 60% medical aid contribution by the BOC, and a R2,000 ($133) housing allowance per employee per month. Gautrain services remain unaffected despite the strike, with management emphasizing that stations are safe and that any picketing at stations would be considered an illegal and unprotected strike.
