Porsche cuts Taycan production due to decreased luxury EV demand, shifts Zuffenhausen plant to single-shift schedule.

Porsche reduces Taycan production due to decreased demand for luxury EVs, with the Zuffenhausen plant moving to a single-shift schedule from two-shifts. The German carmaker attributes the cut-backs to the wider slowdown in luxury electric vehicle market sales. Porsche sold 41,296 Taycans in its first full year in 2021, but faced a 16% dip in sales in 2022, attributed to supply chain bottlenecks. The company bounced back to sell 40,629 Taycans in 2023.
